Ministry: Choir

Position:  Choir

 

Purpose:  Praise, provide musical leadership for congregation.

 

Responsibilities:  Attend choir rehearsals Thursday eve. 7-8:30, or pick up music in advance and prepare it on your own time; attend rehearsal Sunday morning at 10 a.m.

 

Qualifications:  Love music. Love to sing. Although reading music is helpful, it is not essential as anthems can be learned by rote. There are no auditions. We welcome everyone.

 

Time Required:  This depends on how quickly you learn the music.

 

When Ministry is Performed:  Sunday morning, holidays and holy days during the liturgical year.

 

Length of Commitment:  We hope it’s so fulfilling and so much fun that you will want to be part of the group for a long time. Early retirement is not encouraged, but that is up to you.

 

Training:  During rehearsals we cover all the material and go very slowly over the parts in an informal atmosphere. Questions and comments are encouraged. You are issued a robe, a hymnal, and a folder.  Other members in your section guide you and help you.

 

Comments:  We have a good time in choir with lots of good music, a lot of laughs and an opportunity to share and learn.  Come join us one Sunday and find out.
